2021-2022 Outstanding Scholars

Yusuf Allam

With a 4.113 GPA, Yusuf Azmy Allam is graduating co-valedictorian of his class and has been Class President all four years of high school.  He is President of the Science National Honor Society and a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta.  Yusuf was named a Scholar Athlete all four years playing tennis and was the JV Captain his sophomore year.  In his junior year of tennis, Yusuf earned the most varsity wins and highest game winning percentage. Yusuf was also a middle school tennis coach during his junior year.  He enjoys tutoring students and has been named Student of the Month twice. He is the son of Walaa Awad and Azmy Allam.  Yusuf plans to study Biology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he has received a merit scholarship.

Ryan Kleimola

Ryan Matthew Kleimola is the son of Lyn and Brad Kleimola.  Ryan is graduating co-valedictorian of his class, with a 4.113 GPA. He plans to study Civil Engineering at Michigan State University.  Ryan has been awarded the Roberta Reed McWilliams Endowment Fund Scholarship, the McNally Endowed Scholarship, the David Kraft Memorial Scholarship, Flushing Athletic Boosters Scholarship, the Flushing Rotary Club Scholarship, as well as the Shiawassee Knights of Columbus Scholarship. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and Vice President of the Rho Kappa Honor Society.  Ryan was named a Scholar Athlete, was co-captain of the Varsity Golf team, and played Varsity Tennis.  He also took 1st place in Statistics at the Flint Metro League Math/Science Competition.

Ethan LaBombard

Ethan Joseph LaBombard is the son of Carla and Gary LaBombard.   He  will graduate with a 4.095 GPA.  Ethan is Treasurer of the Science National Honor Society, Treasurer of Mu Alpha Theta and a member of the National Honor Society and Rho Kappa Honor Society.  Ethan is planning to attend Michigan State University, where he will study Data Science.  He has been awarded the McNally Endowed Scholarship.  While at FHS, Ethan was a 4 year Scholar Athlete, Team Captain for 3 years of the Varsity Cross Country Team, and played 2 years on Varsity Golf, earning 3rd team All Flint Metro League.

Ethan Kriesch

Ethan Robert Kriesch is the son of Val and Brent Kriesch.  Graduating with a 4.069 GPA, Ethan plans to attend Asbury University, where he is undecided on a major.  He has been awarded the Asbury Academic Scholarship and Asbury Honors Program Scholarship.  Ethan is a member of the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, as well as Mu Alpha Theta.  He has been a Scholar Athlete all four years of high school playing soccer.  Ethan has been named MVP and was team captain for two years.  He has also been named twice to the 3rd team All Flint Metro League, and once to the 2nd team All Flint Metro League.

Summer Salman

The daughter of Reem and Wael Salman, Summer Salman will graduate with a 4.054 GPA.   Summer is Secretary of the National Honor Society, Secretary of Mu Alpha Theta and a member of the Science National Honor Society and Rho Kappa.  She will attend the University of Michigan Honors College in Ann Arbor, where she is undecided on her major.  Summer has received the Ensure the Legacy Scholarship from the Arab American Heritage Council.  She was a Scholar Athlete all four years of high school, competing in both soccer and tennis.  Summer ran the fall and spring blood drives at the high school.  She was also involved with Student Council, Pay It Forward, as well as tutoring  other students.

Qusta Hayek

Qusta Wael Hayek will attend Kettering University, where he will study Computer Science. He has received the Kettering University Presidential Merit Scholarship.  Qusta is a member of the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta.  While at FHS, Qusta was also named Scholar Athlete.  He will graduate with a 4.048 GPA.  Qusta is the son of Kholoud and Wael Hayek.

Luke Taft

Luke Courter Taft is the son of Nancy and Steve Taft.  Luke will attend the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he will study Computer Science.  He will graduate with a 4.047 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the Rho Kappa Honor Society.  Luke has been named Scholar Athlete, Student of the Month, and was the JV Quiz Bowl Captain his sophomore year.

Margaret Hartmann

Margaret Mary Hartmann is a member of the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta.  She will graduate with a 4.042 GPA.  Margaret plans to study Actuarial Science at Central Michigan University, where she has received the Central Michigan University Maroon and Gold Scholarship and the Central Michigan University Multicultural Advancement Scholarship. Margaret has also received the Greenstone Scholarship.  She is the Vice President of the Lapeer County FFA and has earned a State FFA Degree.  She is the daughter of Ann and Matthew Hartmann.

Hannah Boike

Hannah Grace Boike is a member of the Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and Vice President of the National Honor Society and will graduate with a 4.031 GPA.  Hannah will attend the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where she will double major in Engineering and Music.  Hannah has been awarded the Jan Liepmann Vocal Music Scholarship.  She has earned the Women of Engineering Merit Award.  Hannah is also the Vice President of student council, President of Acapella, and Treasurer of the Rotary Club.  She is also part of Madrigals and Beta Chi Theta and has composed and performed over 30 songs.  She was part of the MSVMA State Honors Choir three years in a row and All State Honors Choir her senior year.  She is the daughter of Kimberly and Jeffery Boike.

Maddison Campbell

Maddison Lee Campbell  will attend Hamilton College where she plans to study Environmental Science with a pre-law track. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Rho Kappa Honor Society, and Vice President of the Science National Honor Society.  Maddison is also a Scholar Athlete in Powerlifting, the 2021 Genesee County Fair Queen, a Black Belt in Karate, and the 2021 4-H Ambassador.  Maddison is the daughter of Lisa Smith and will graduate with a 4.028 GPA.

Reagan Peck

Reagan Elizabeth Peck is planning to attend Mott Community College, where she will study Nursing.  She will graduate with a 4.016 GPA and is a member of the Science National Honor Society.  Reagan was yearbook editor, named Scholar Athlete for Girls Golf, and earned her CNA through GCI.  She also participated in the CTE Early Middle College program.   Reagan is the daughter of Rachel and Troy Etheridge and Dan Peck.

Madison Ouellette

Madison Isabel Ouellette is the daughter of Alecia Dorcey and Brandon Ouellette. Madison will attend Mott Community College for her Associate of Science degree, prior to attending Michigan State University.  She also participated in the FREC Early College Program and the National Society of Leadership and Success through MCC.  She will graduate with a 4.006 GPA.  

Braeden Tunnicliff

Braeden Joseph Tunnicliff is a member of the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta. He will graduate with a 4.006 GPA.  Braeden plans to attend the University of Michigan - Flint to study Mathematics. He has earned the Maize and Blue Scholarship.  While at FHS, Braeden was a Scholar Athlete, competing in both cross country and track.  He was also a Captain in both sports.  Braeden is the son of Melissa and Steve Tunnicliff.
